Cybersecurity, interest-rate risk top NCUA 2016 exam priorities

first_img 11SHARESShareShareSharePrintMailGooglePinterestDiggRedditStumbleuponDeliciousBufferTumblr The Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council’s cybersecurity assessment tool, released in 2015, will be incorporated into NCUA’s exam process in the second half of this year, according to the agency’s 2016 exam priorities released Monday.The FFIEC assessment tool allows financial institutions to do self-assessments to help them improve their risk management strategies. NAFCU, while supporting credit unions’ use of the tool, has urged NCUA to keep it voluntary.In a September comment letter to NCUA regarding the assessment tool, NAFCU Regulatory Affairs Counsel Kavitha Subramanian said the tool was “designed to be used by credit union management on an ongoing basis when considering changes to its business strategy; it was not designed to prescribe desired or required outcomes of individual financial institutions.”The FFIEC includes representatives from the Federal Reserve Board, FDIC, NCUA, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, CFPB and the State Liaison Committee. continue reading »last_img read more

Xavi warns Barcelona against signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang or Sadio Mane

The Arsenal and Liverpool forwards shared the Premier League Golden Boot last season along with Mohamed Salah and have enjoyed similarly prolific seasons this term. Aubameyang has just over a year left remaining on his current contract and has been linked with both Barcelona and their La Liga rivals Real Madrid. Mane, meanwhile, remains an integral part of Jurgen Klopp’s side that stands on the brink of winning a first ever Premier League title.
