Liverpool to offload another striker?

first_imgLiverpool are on the verge of offloading another striker this week with Iago Aspas set to leave.Despite losing star man and goal-scorer-in-chief Luis Suarez to Barcelona this week, the Merseyside club is preparing to let Spanish forward Aspas go on loan to Sevilla with a view to a permanent deal.According to local sources, Liverpool chief executive Ian Ayre has flown to Spain to finalise the deal for the 26-year-old, who scored just once in 15 appearances last season.Brendan Rodgers was hopeful of using Aspas as a makeweight in a deal to bring Sevilla left-back Alberto Moreno to Anfield this summer but it now appears the deals will have to be separate transactions.Aspas’s exit will free up space in the Liverpool squad for another striker and Lille man Divock Origi has been photographed at the club’s training ground since his Belgium side was knocked out of the World Cup.
