first_imgPACKIE Bonner, Donegal’s goalkeeping legend, is still a hero to Celtic fans.As was witnessed when the Hoops travelled to Paisley at the weekend to play St Mirren.Celtic came away with a victory and extended their lead at the top of the SPL over Rangers to four points. Around 200 Celtic fans from Co Donegal were at the game.But none as famous as our Packie, the former Hoops keeper.He was give a rousing reception by the travelling fans.And by the look on his face, he certainly seemed to be enjoying himself. DONEGAL LIBRARIES PROMISE NOT TO ‘BOOK’ LATE BORROWERS WITH AMNESTY

first_imgA library amnesty for people who have forgotten to bring back books, DVDs and other items to Donegal’s 13 outlets has just started.Get your books back to the library now!The amnesty started yesterday and will run for the entire month of March.It is estimated that there are more than 2,500 items outstanding from Donegal’s libraries. “We hope by waiving fines, it will encourage readers who feel embarrassed by their oversight to rediscover the pleasures in their local library, which include free access to books, online resources and weekly activities.“This is our first ever county-wide fines amnesty and it applies to all Donegal libraries. The public can return any overdue book, CD or DVD to any of our 13 libraries without any fear of fines,” said a spokesman.To celebrate fines amnesty month the council is holding a competition for the ‘best excuse’ for a late book!So get your best story to us at your local library or forward it to Facebook or Twitter at Donegal County Library.
